How To: Offer a Free Digital Download on Your Site

Follow

There may be times when you would like to allow customers to download a piece of art for free from your website. This can be a great way to entice future buyers. In this article we'll walk you through this process, which can be used by Artists, Galleries and Print Studios.

  1. Navigate to your Art Storefronts Site Manager and click on the page where you would like to offer your free download. We're going to be adding our free download to the page titled Home.

  2. On your chosen page, scroll down until you find a content box. On our page we have a Lead and Ending Content box. We'll be using the Ending Content box.

  3. From here, you'll need to decide whether or not you want to use text to offer your download or an image. We're going to use text and an image. You'll need to enter in that information. If you need help on uploading an image to the editor, please see our article How To: Upload Images Via the WYSIWYG Editor.

  4. Once you've got your text or image entered you need to Hyperlink it to your download. You'll need to open your Dropbox (or other image storage account) in a new tab and obtain the download link for it.

  5. After getting the download link you'll return to your ASF page and hyperlink your text or image to that download. If you need assistance with creating links, please see, How To: Create Links Using Text in the WYSIWYG Editor or How To: Link to a New Page Using an Image Via the WYSIWYG Editor.
